Champions in Tarnowo Podgórne.
On Friday, 24 February, the students of Jan Paweł II Primary School in Tarnowo Podgórne will be visited by famous sportsmen – Olympic athletes – high jump athlete – Artur Partyka, two-time IO Games medallist /bronze in Barcelona 1992 and silver in Atlanta 1996/ and Robert Maćkowiak/ champion and bronze medallist of the World Championships in the 4 x 400 relay/ – an inhabitant of Tarnowo Podgórne Commune.
IO and world championships medallists, Polish record-holders / Artur Partyka for 20 years has held the national high jump record since 1996 – a result of 2.38/ will talk about their sporting journey, successes, failures, and also about why it is worth practising sport. They will also conduct classes of physical education for a group of students, bringing closer the specificity of the “queen of sport”.
On Saturday the Tarnów Thermal Baths will host a ‘workout with the champion’ as part of the fitness classes, which will include a chance to work up a sweat in the company of IO and World Championships medallists – Aneta Konieczna – a three-time IO medallist (silver in Beijing 2008 and two bronze medals in Athens 2000 and Sydney 2004), Artur Partyka and Robert Maćkowiak.
The culmination of the visit of well-known athletes in Tarnowo Podgórne Commune will be the 1st Sportsman Ball organized by GKS Tarnovia Tarnowo Podgórne.
The Ball will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 20.00 in Hotel 500 in Tarnowo Podgórne 139 Poznańska Street.
Stage star of the evening will be JERZY KRYSZAK – well-known actor and cabaret artist, a great sympathizer of sport.
At the Ball, the organizers will host the aforementioned celebrities of Polish sport – ARTUR PARTYKA, ANETA KONIECZNA and ROBERT MACKOWIAK.
The Quest band will play.
One of the main goals of the Ball will be to raise funds to help rehabilitate WOJTEK SZEWCZYK – a player in the football section of GKS Tarnovia, who had a very serious accident in 2015 and is undergoing extremely expensive rehabilitation.
